My Mission

My mission can be summed up in three points:

To Listen to God and do what He tells me.

To Live a life of prayer and encourage others to do the same.

To Link up with like minded ministries to establish the Kingdom of God on earth.

I usually put it this way: “God is calling me to raise up an army of men and women to build him a throne in the earth.” This army is largely young people, and mostly creative artists.

This mission has led me to New England to do 2 exciting things.

First, to establish a center House of Prayer in Boston.

On June 17, 2009 we began the 333 House of Prayer at Congrecation Leon de Juda.  We have begun with 3 hours, 3 days a week, and hope to expand to 5 in August.

There are a number of prayer initiatives in the city of Boston, and throughout New England. The House of Prayer would build on this foundation, and hopefully bring these initiatives to a new level. The city of Boston is critical for the Northeast. Across the world there is a growing prayer movement that looks to the Tabernacle of David in I Chronicles 16 as its model. This movement is inspired by the monastic movements of the middle ages that saw prayer as a life vocation, and the Moravians who led a 100 year prayer meeting at their center in Herrnhut, Germany. The prayer movement ministers day and night to the Lord and on behalf of people and nations. For over 200 years, Boston has been the birthplace of some of the most important ideas, literature, and spiritual movements in America. Some of these movements have included the American abolitionist movement, 19th century Transcendentalism and the Evangelical movement of the 20th Century.

Boston as a city has been a center of influence for its entire history. Once the seat of government for a colony founded on a covenant with God, Boston was the center of American Independence, the first Great Awakening, the end of slavery, and foreign missions. In stark contrast, today Boston is influential in other ways. In recent years Boston has been on the forefront of same sex marriage laws, the center of the clergy sex abuse scandal in the Roman Catholic Church, and the city of origin for the planes that hit the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

The second is to help secure the Northfield School Campus.

The Northfield School was built by famous American evangelist D.L. Moody. Moody was led to Christ in a shoe store on Beacon Hill. He was the Billy Graham of the 19th Century. The Northfield School’s original mission was to provide education for underprivileged youth. Moody began the Northfield Conferences in 1880 with a 10 Day prayer meeting. Within seven years, these summer conferences, held at the Northfield campus, had blessed thousands of believers. The conferences also birthed the Student Volunteer Movement, a missions movement that would send 20,000 young men and women overseas in the next 50 years. The campus has been lying largely dormant since 2005.

We believe that God intends to revive the Moody legacy there by forming a multi-stream Christian ministry that includes: A missions training and sending center, an orphanage, a house of prayer, justice ministries, and believers from every stream of the Christian community.

I am linking with a ministry called Wisdom Way to help accomplish this mission. Wisdom Way exists to create united prayer initiatives and “10 Days of Prayer” in the spring and the fall. You can learn about their vision in detail here.

These two goals are related to the belief that a coming world wide Christian awakening is on the horizon, and a large part of it will be centered in New England. We are committed to reopening the “ancient wells” dug by the Puritans, by Jonathon Edwards, by Charles Finney, and by D.L. Moody. We indeed have an amazing heritage.

What can I do to help make these things possible?

You can pray!  This ministry is all about prayer, and I do not do formal fundraising.  I ask people to continue to hold me in prayer.

For a year I have been operating out of southern New Hampshire, and it has become clear that in order to transition to the next phase I will need:

A reliable car
An apartment in Boston
A quality piano or keyboard (Got it!  Hallelujah)
