Authentic
Thank you for your prayers.
In one of my books
I talk about plastic stuff
sold by the Oriental Trading Company
made in sweatshops.
Churches buy this stuff
because it has
"Jesus Loves You"
stamped on it.
It's fake.
A lot of the Christian stuff out there is.
My grandmother was in show business.
The show must go on.
I worked
in the ministry world
a long time
and I found the same thing:
the show must go on.
In that world,
What people see
out front is what matters.
Honestly,
the folks in showbiz
were nicer and kinder
than the folks in ministry biz.
It has not served us well.
God pulled me away
from the ministry world
in 2006.
It still freaks people out.
No fundraising,
no marketing,
no social media,
and
no show.
It's really hard to go from organizing
and leading meetings
with over 1000
attendees,
to speaking to six people on Zoom.
It has been a death for me.
But in the process,
I have become real.
Authentic,
honest,
vulnerable.
It's not a show.
There are tectonic shifts happening
in media,
the arts,
and entertainment right now.
Hollywood is just about dead,
and old media is collapsing.
People have figured out
that it was a show.
The other day
God spoke a new word to me:
Relationship based
alternate Christian media.
Conversations with artists and creative people
that are real,
honest,
and authentic.
Not about selling product,
or pushing some agenda.
Just people with messy lives
telling the world about walking with God.
High quality resources
that talk up to people,
not down.
Gathering a community
like we do now,
around big ideas,
creativity,
the Kingdom,
the Incarnation,
and being broken bread and poured out wine
for the life of the world.
Christians need
to provide new leadership
in the arts and culture.
Belonging House needs to be that leader.
I'm in the process of getting things together
to give my resources away.
Someone asked me yesterday if I was serious,
and then they offered their materials too.
Open Source Discipleship,
This is how we are going to reach a million
sanctified,
fearless artists.
By being real
and by being generous.
I'm looking for help.
Yes, we will need money,
but we also need talent.
I need someone to be my personal assistant in the US.
We are going to need an upgrade in the sound and video area.
And this office has been a great stepping stone,
but it has a lot of practical limitations.
I need a new space.
With God's help I am going to go back to the US
in early December,
and take care of a lot of practical things.
It would be great to see folks,
and possibly meet with some groups of friends
while I am there.
Let me know your thoughts.
Finally,
as I said on Monday,
this is not about selling books,
it's about creating a movement
of disciples in the arts.
Please check out these links
it will be a big help to our big mission:
to raise up an army of artists
who will build Jesus a throne in the earth.
That's honesty
and authenticity.
Not showbiz.

If you lead a group of artists, I am offering a case discount on books from now until November 30. You have to order 10, and the cases are $150 plus shipping and tax. If you are outside the US, contact me for a similar price in your currency. You are getting the books wholesale, and I am making nothing. It's okay.
Thanks for your help.
