The Door on the House

Thank you for your prayers.
Because we have never had a physical house,
we have never had a physical door.
Ghandi once said that he liked to keep an open mind,
but that "he did not let people walk through his open mind
with their dirty feet."
We didn't have a doormat either.
I used to work for a very controlling denomination.
And our core group of artists in the first few years
was made up of people who were "done."
They were burned out
and "done with church."
Oddly,
my relaxed Anglo-Catholic spirituality
felt like freedom to these folks who were used to programs.
We prayed together
and ate together,
but we didn't really have structure,
rules,
and "membership."
The time came when that became a problem,
and we have had a number of folks
who thought my relaxed attitude was weakness
and they tried to burn the house down.
Funny how none of them were artists.
A lot of the stuff we see in church,
like gossip,
backbiting,
and turf wars,
come from the belief that church is a game--
a leisure activity.
The Kingdom is life and death,
not a game.
In Zechariah,
God shows us a global army of artisans
who will overcome
in an age of discouragement
for God's people.
And the vision ends with Jerusalem
being surrounded by a wall of fire
and the glory of God within.
A wall of fire is dangerous and scary,
because we need safety inside.
Our house,
is called to be a place of safety and protection
for those who are called to the dangerous world of the arts.
I have seen more people lose their souls in the arts
than anyplace else.
Satan hates you.
Belonging House is called to make a place for
these holy artists to belong.
In order to do this,
in March we are beginning to put structures in place
that many have resisted in the past.
There will be a membership requirement
to be part of the Mighty Network Community,
and a membership process to join our church,
The House of Artisans.
The purpose is to make this house a home
for those who are called to make a way for the coming of the Lord.
This is going to be a welcoming door,
and many of you who read my Friday emails
already meet the qualifications
to enter.
In March I will share the details.
It is time to get ready to lead
in a cultural awakening.
He Never Fails,
Update on the House
As you know, I am taking steps to acquire a physical house
to serve as our international headquarters.
This week I filed papers with the state of New Hampshire
to establish "Belonging House International" here.
We sent a proposal to the owner of the house,
and contacted the Mayor of Manchester, NH about attracting
Christian artists here.
One day, and step, at a time.
